We are delighted to welcome the hugely popular Charlie Morley back to Dublin for two workshops.

Saturday 14th November 2020 10am – 5pm

Mindfulness of Dream Sleep: For Stress or Trauma Affected Sleep Patterns

Originally developed for British military veterans, Mindfulness of Dream & Sleep is a holistic approach to healing for people with stress or trauma affected sleep patterns.

In this practical workshop we’ll learn how to transform the harmful effects that stress and trauma can have on the third of our life that we spend asleep.

Using scientifically verified mindfulness-based techniques alongside breath and body-work practices the MODS Method helps to reduce stress before bed and optimise sleep quality.

Mindfulness of Dream & Sleep is based on an unconditionally compassionate approach to sleep & dreams and is made up of five core practices:

  1. Normalisation of Trauma Affected Sleep
  2. Hypnagogic Mindfulness (Yoga Nidra)
  3. De-stigmatising Nightmares
  4. Coherent Breathing (the Breath-Body-Mind approach)
  5. Lucid Dreaming

From common work-related stress to the more serious effects of trauma, this workshop teaches effective techniques to help you sleep better and wake up healthier.

The workshop will also explore:

  • The Science of Sleep Cycles
  • Reframing our Nightmares
  • The Neuroscience of Trauma
  • Optimising our Sleep Health
  • Dream-work for Trauma Integration

Whether you currently have stress of trauma affected sleep or not, learning these practices is still really beneficial and so everybody is welcome to come and learn!

Cost of one day workshop €60 (includes simple vegetarian lunch) – if you wish to attend both workshops €100 for both days (including lunch)

Places are limited – please book your place in advance email info@buddhism.ie or call 01 4537427. Full payment by 1st November

Charlie Morley is a bestselling author and teacher of lucid dreaming & shadow integration.

He has been lucid dreaming for over 20 years and was “authorised to teach” within the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism by Lama Yeshe Rinpoche in 2008. He has since co-created a holistic approach to dream work called Mindfulness of Dream & Sleep alongside mindfulness pioneer Rob Nairn and written three books which have been translated into 15 languages.

For over 10 years Charlie has run workshops & retreats in more than 20 countries and continues to teach internationally. He’s spoken at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities, the Ministry of Defence Mindfulness Symposium, The Houses of Parliament, TEDx San Diego and Mindvalley University.

In 2018 he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship grant to research “Mindfulness Based PTSD Treatment in Veterans” and continues to teach sleep & dream practices to armed forces veterans  and civilians with Stress or Trauma Affected Sleep Patterns.

In 2019 Charlie created the first Lucid Dreaming Training for Therapists which trained a group of hypnotherapists, art therapists, mediation teachers and counsellors to use lucid dreaming with their clients.

He formally became a Buddhist at the age of 19, lived at the Kagyu Samye Dzong Buddhist Centre for 7 years and completed a 3 month solo meditation retreat at Tara Rokpa Centre in 2016. In his past life he trained and worked as an actor & scriptwriter before running a breakdance collective and working as a hip hop MC throughout his 20’s.

He now lives in London with his wife, astral projection teacher Jade Shaw. When he’s not teaching he enjoys martial arts (he has a black-belt in Kickboxing), going dancing and pretending to meditate.
