What does a 2,600 year old religion have to offer us in the ultra-modern world? Do the teachings of the Buddha have any relevance today? Maybe now more than ever!

thubten-1We are delighted to welcome back Gelong Thubten, renowned mindfulness and meditation teacher, and Buddhist monk based in Kagyu Samye Ling Monastery, Scotland.

Gelong Thubten is a Buddhist monk who teaches meditation and specialises in providing non-religious mindfulness workshops and training programmes for businesses and organisations. Thubten has been a monk for 24 years at Kagyu Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, (www.samyeling.org), has trained under some of the world’s most accomplished teachers of meditation, and has spent over five years in intensive meditation retreats.

He contributed as ‘a monk’ to the book ‘How to be Human’ by Ruby Wax, along with neuroscientist Ash Ranpura, and is currently travelling around the world promoting the book as well as teaching in organisations such as Google, Facebook, Accenture and Wisdom 2.0.

The talk is open to everyone to attend, starting at 7.30pm. Suggested donation €10, but please do not let funds be an obstacle, feel free to give whatever you can afford.
