Meditation is a unique way to bring your mind to the present moment and to allow us to experience true peace (easier said than done!) and an insight and realization of what the mind really is.

In Kagyu Samye Dzong Dublin, we practice the traditional Buddhist method of meditation brought to us through our lineage, and offer instruction to whoever would like to learn how to meditate. This type of meditation is known as Shinay, or Shamatha/Calm Abiding, and was taught by the Lord Buddha over 2,500 years ago.

Beginners meditation instruction is offered on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm. These classes are ‘Drop-in’ – no need to book. There is also a short session of meditation from 12pm – 12.30pm – suitable for those who are beginning their meditation journey. By Donation.

In these sessions you will be taught the correct posture – this is vital to ensure you don’t develop bad habits from the beginning and get the most benefit from the session. Also how to work with distraction – a constant problem in these busy times.

It is also very important to receive instruction from an experienced and authorised instructor, in order to meditate in a way that is genuinely beneficial.

Suggested donation €8- €12 towards the running costs of the Centre.
