Kagyu Samye Dzong participates in Culture Night

Friday 20th September 4.30pm – 8.30pm

Are you curious about Buddhism, about Tibet, or both? This event will introduce visitors to Tibetan Buddhism, at the Kagyu Samye Dzong Centre in Kilmainham. It was founded in 1977, and has been offering teachings, prayers and practices on a regular basis ever since, including visits from eminent teachers from Tibet, India, Nepal and other places. There will be a few options for engagement on Culture Night, on a rolling basis across the four hours: listen to a short overview of the centre’s history and watch videos of its founders; hear a short talk about Buddhism by the resident nun, and experience a guided meditation; have a short tour of the back garden, with its historic well and plans for a new temple; avail of a chance to offer prayers and candles for loved ones, and enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit in the kitchen. Everyone is welcome, of all faiths and none.
