Dear Friends,

We are delighted to bring you this special event to close the year of 2016 in Kagyu Samye Dzong Dublin. We are very fortunate to have Gelong Thubten back in the Centre, where he will lead a weekend course in meditation, retreat style. This will be an ideal opportunity to learn how to meditate from an expert, if you are a complete beginner, or benefit from a retreat from the mid-winter madness, and maybe recharge your batteries at the same time.

This weekend is open to all and suitable for everyone – no need to be Buddhist to attend, just an interest in meditation.

Suggested donation €35 per day (includes simple vegetarian lunch). Donations are vital to help keep the Centre going and allowing us to invite teachers such as Thubten to Dublin, so that as many people as possible benefit from what we have to offer.

Gelong Thubten has been a monk since 1993, and for many years served as Akong Tulku Rinpoche’s secretary and assistant, as well as giving courses at Samye Ling and the Samye Dzong centres.

In his early years as a monk he completed 200 pairs of the Nyung Ney fasting practice in retreat, and more recently he completed a four year retreat and a one year retreat at Samye Ling’s long term retreat centre on Arran.

His work also involves teaching meditation in organisations such as companies, hospitals, schools, prisons and the social services.

Thubten is director of Kagyu Samye Dzong Scarborough and a trustee of ROKPA Switzerland.
