This October marks the Fourth Anniversary of the tragic death of our beloved Founder, Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche. We will honour Akong Rinpoche’s life, his activities which benefitted so many, and the legacy he has left behind.
At 2.30pm we will begin with a light offering, followed by a Milarepa Tsok (Offering practice – donations of food, flowers, incense etc are very welcome). This will be followed by a very special event, the first screening in KSDD of the award-winning documentary ‘Akong – A Remarkable Life’. This film has been a labour of love for the filmmakers and contributors, all of whom share their experiences of Akong Rinpoche, his incredible life story from his escape from Tibet, coming to the UK, the founding of Samye Ling and the Samye Dzong networks, the humanitarian charity ROKPA International and Tara Rokpa Therapy, and his tireless dedication to helping others, founding schools, orphanages and the preservation of Tibetan culture. A true example of compassion-in-action that has inspired so many to continue his legacy.
Everyone is welcome to join us for this special day remembering Rinpoche and his remarkable life. All donations received on the day will be given to the Akong Memorial Fund so we hope you will give generously!
